For the women of the past
The restrictions they faced
Head down feeling shame and sometimes disgrace
To fight the pressure their trauma caused
Can only imagine their fight without resource
An inspiration you are to me
The power, the strength, the energy
Thats the legacy I can see
I thankyou for what you give to me
You shared your life and stories
You shared your love and pain
Through your lifetime experience
The future women have gained
Encouraged I feel the energy, the power, and the tenacity
For you the women of the past
Unknowingly you created our future path
